Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actor from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic family. Her father Elroy Fernandez hails of Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. She is the younger of two sisters and one older brother. When she was in her teens she competed in national championships of badminton at both the regional and international levels. However, she left the sport in order to pursue a career as a designer. Padukone is of Mangalorean background Her mother language is Konkani. Padukone is a village within the Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone is her father and was a badminton player with international recognition. Her mother works as a travel agent.
